The World Pub Crawl 2010 record attempt has been cancelled

Just in from my mailbox:

Tim canceled World Record Pub Crawl 2010.

Tim declares, "Hi all,

Despite our best efforts, we have been told in no uncertain terms by the Metropolitan Police and respective local councils that we will not be allowed to run World Record Pub Crawl 2010 anywhere in London. We have tried our best to relocate and reorgansie but we have been met by nothing other than resistance and so regretably we have now been forced to cancel the whole event.

It is a sad day but it goes to show that a culture of binge drinking has now affected even the oldest of British traditions, despite us doing our best to ensure that binge drinkers were not welcome. We will be refunding all tickets sold and we are very sorry if you have made travel plans.

We have some people coming from as far away as Sweden and the USA and we are very sad as it did look like we would have broken the record.

As a small gesture we would like to offer you free entry to Walkbout Temple on Saturday October 9th for a few low key drinks and a dance, aka the 'World Record Pub Crawl 2010 Wake' (just bring your WRPC ticket).

If you have any questions please contact us on tim@worldrecordpubcrawl2010.com.

All tickets purchased through www.worldrecordpubcrawl2010.com will be fuly refunded through PayPal within 7 working days. If you have purchased tickets through any other agent (e.g. Groupon or Get Your Guide) then you need to contact them directly.

Thanks for your understanding in advance.

Regards,

A sad WRPC Team.".
