This picture sums up London City Airport. I got here, checked my bag in, through security, found a table, had a beer and plugged my laptop into the power and the free wifi - all in under 10 minutes. In the background, you can see the DLR (Docklands Light Railway - part of the underground) - which took me from my desk to this bar in under 50 minutes.
All the more amazing when you realise it was 5pm on a Friday.
Basically, if you have the choice of airports for London, go for this one. Avoid Gatwick. Heathrow is only just becoming usable again, but it is parked half way to Wales. Luton and Stanstead both give really horrible customer experiences. The common thread of crap that runs through this tale of woe, is of course, BAA. The company that owns all of these airports - aside from Luton and of course City.
Can you guess I'm back at my old game of SuperCommuting ?
