Here at Casa Buchan, I have a rather odd problem. The house is rather large, and the barn (Where the servers live) is a separate building. Up till now, its been all joined up using a collection of rather old and nasty 100mb switches. Well, thanks to Aria and the £20 8-port gigabit switch - I now have a complete wired gigabit network. The difference, surprisingly, is awesome. Recommended.

Just wish I'd bought some spare RJ45 flyleads too.. These 6" jobs are rather constricting.. Sigh..

In terms of other bargains, Dell are selling off new dual-processor servers for just £99 (+ VAT and shipping). Get them whilst they're hot.. Now, they're not fast, but hey - £99 buys a nice test server/fileserver. Especially running Fedora or Ubuntu..
