Consider the following issue. A user with a chinese/mandarin copy of windows running English Lotus Notes client on top. We send some "license key" information via eMail - this license key information is uuencoded from binary so is guaranteed to only contain lower-ASCII characters - that is - things between ASCII value 33 and 127.
The user (correctly) cuts and pastes the string from his eMail to our license key window, and our license key code then attempts to validate that information. It fails.
Anyone got any direct experience in this area ? "Complex" (non-ASCII-based) languages and notes and strings ?
(Whilst we have huge experience with large mega-corporations, they of course dictate "English" windows and notes clients. So we've not seen the messy underbelly of the unicode/LMBCS world too often.)
