Broadband Demand

In the UK, BT has a bizarre way of estimating demand for Broadband - they ask folks to vote for it. That way, they can focus their resources on cherrypicking the most lucrative areas first.

Well - Rural scotland isnt lucrative. In my campaign to get our local exchange upgraded, I made the startling discovery that two other villages were on that exchange. And as I found out last night, one of the villages was far larger than I thought. And spent three hours walking door to door.

After that exercise, the good news is that the vote-count for the local exchange is showing 110 out of a target of 150.
