The Curse of British Rail

After working a wekeend a few weeks ago, my pre-booked nonchangeable flight structure was in tatters. In order to get home today, I'd to take a 12:30 flight from Amsterdam to Edinburgh. Which meant only one hour at work (and surprisingly for a contractor, didnt get my timesheet signed!).

Edinburgh by 1:30pm - nice. And then a 90 minute wait at Haymarket station, waiting for the next train.

God. What a waste. Honestly. We bloody well invented the damn things, and now third world countries can provide a more reliable service. Fourth biggest economy in the world, and we cant run a train service. All we can do is flip burgers.... I despair.

Perhaps I should move to Switzerland. It might not have a lot happening there, but it is perfect. Sigh.
